About the role

• You will lead and manage the performance and output of the team that delivers our weather warning program
• You will ensure that we meet or exceed our performance targets for severe weather as agreed with out Stakeholder and clients
• You will foster and grow a collegial and effective working relationship with WMO, CDEM/NEMA and Regional Councils ensuring we remain their trusted scientific partner
• Recommend and lead change within the Severe Weather to ensure that we remain at the forefront of meteorological excellence and are commercially competitive
• Be an innovative, collegial and enthusiastic member of the Forecasting Management team.

Requirements

• Proven management skills with the ability to build trust and credibility and maintain strong positive relationships 
• Ability to lead and influence a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability in facilitating change
• Strong Meteorological and warning dissemination background, with the ability to present credibly both internally & externally
• Experience in managing complex situations which involve pressure and competing deadlines
• Proven business acumen, with a focus on successful customer outcomes.
