About the role
- You will lead and manage the performance and output of the team that delivers our weather warning program
- You will ensure that we meet or exceed our performance targets for severe weather as agreed with out Stakeholder and clients
- You will foster and grow a collegial and effective working relationship with WMO, CDEM/NEMA and Regional Councils ensuring we remain their trusted scientific partner
- Recommend and lead change within the Severe Weather to ensure that we remain at the forefront of meteorological excellence and are commercially competitive
- Be an innovative, collegial and enthusiastic member of the Forecasting Management team.
Requirements
- Proven management skills with the ability to build trust and credibility and maintain strong positive relationships
- Ability to lead and influence a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability in facilitating change
- Strong Meteorological and warning dissemination background, with the ability to present credibly both internally & externally
- Experience in managing complex situations which involve pressure and competing deadlines
- Proven business acumen, with a focus on successful customer outcomes.
